ECON 2530 - Economic Analysis of Nonmarket Institutions
Introduction to research on the economics of organization, especially internal organization and contractual structures of firms as viewed by "the new institutional economics" and related approaches. Consideration of nonstandard elements of preferences relevant to organization problems; the roles of status, peer pressure, reciprocity, and punishment in problems of cooperation and hierarchy. Applications in comparative institutional design and comparative economics systems.
